Abstract
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini mengenai “STUDI IDENTIFIKASI KEBUTUHAN KOMPETENSI DAN BAKAT”, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kompetensi dan bakat yang diperlukan dalam menjalankan tugas / jabatan sebagai guru.
Teori-teori yang digunakan sebagai landasan dalam penelitian adalah dimensi kompetensi Spencer dan tema-tema bakat Gallup. Sedangkan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif melalui penelitian survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Adapun yang menjadi populasi dalam penelitian yaitu para guru SMP Negeri Kota Bandung Utara, dan sampel penelitian diambil secara random sebanyak 69 guru.
Data hasil penelitian terlebih dahulu diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik nonparametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa terdapat tiga belas jenis kompetensi dari empat kelompok kompetensi dan tujuh tema bakat dominan yang dibutuhkan dalam jabatan guru, selanjutnya dari hasil pemetaan posisi guru diperoleh data mengenai responden yang berbakat dan tidak berbakat menjadi guru.
Berkaitan dengan temuan tersebut disarankan pada pihak sekolah agar dapat memanfaatkannya sebagai acuan dalam mengikuti program sertifikasi guru dan sebagai salah satu instrumen dalam perekrutan/penerimaan guru baru, agar dapat dilakukan secara professional.

ABSTRACT
The main subject of the research is The Study of Identifiying The Teacher Competences Need And The Talent Themes. The research is purposed to identify kinds of competences and talent themes that are needed in carrying out the teacher function.
The theories that used as underlying or basic in this research, are the dimensions of Spencer Competences and Gallup talent themes. This research used descriptive method through survey research with quantitative approach. Population in this research is teachers from state-yunior high school at Bandung Utara, whereas samples is taken using random method as many as 69 teachers.
First, the data of research are tested by validity and reliability tests then analyzed by descriptive statistics and tested by run test. The result of research indicated, there are thirteen kinds of competences from four competences classification and seven talent themes that are needed for teacher function. Based on the result of teacher position mapping is obtained the data of talented and untalented teachers.
Be related to these findings are suggested to the principal of state- yunior high school to use it as references in following the teacher certification program and as instruments of teacher recruitment selection, so that the teacher recruitment can be done professionally.
