- ItemDIFFERENCES IN BUSINESS ETHICAL PERCEPTIONS BETWEEN SALES PEOPLE AND BUSINESS STUDENTS(International Conference on Business, Entrepreneurship and Management 2012, San Beda College, 2012-01-25) Setiadi, Nugroho J.; Puspitasari, Devy M.; Merginawati, RismaEthic and personality are two important things for a business organization. In terms of work place, it is important to know that someone who workid' at personal selling (salespeople) sometimes violates the moral and ethical dimensions of their profession. This is the reason why the study aimed to examine the differences in business ethi~al"~erce~tiobentsw een salespeople and the prospective personal selling people(e.g. business students) and to compare their perceptions based on gender differences. 200 samples participated in this study, and a number of hypotheses have been tested empirically. Results of the study indicate that gender differences differ in the four dimensions of ethics, namely: moral development, ethical value system, sensitivity to ethical issues, and ethical behavior. However, in general, empirical results showed no differences in gender for the examination of ethical behavior. Interesting finding showed that there are significant differences in perceptions of business ethics and personality between business students and people who have already work personal selling.

In order to reduce the intense increase of staff turnover, it is important to identify factors determining the employees’ behavior towards the job concerning job satisfaction. The developed model leads to assess whether organizational climate has a partially or fully in mediating the relationship between organizational culture and job satisfaction. Several hypotheses are examined to be empirically proven on this study. Finding of the study shows that the best performance in human relationships is an improvement effort on organizational culture and climate as an important factor in service industry. This empirical study also shows a surprised result that the worse organizational climate, the more positive the behavior is. It is the behavior that leads to the decrease of the level of the staff turnover.
- ItemEMPIRICAL STUDY OF CREATIVE BEHAVIOR AMONG INDONESIAN DESIGN STUDENTS(Faculty of Economics Trisakti University, 2010-11-10) Setiadi, Nugroho J.; Boediprasetya, Agoestiana; WahdiamanThis paper presents preliminary findings of an examination creative behavioral model. As part of an extensive modeling effort, it offers initial insights that may shift the current focus in individual creativity to a more extensive view where the situations within designers operate play a role in the occurrence of creativity. To accomplish this aim, it is important to understand people’s motivations and creative behaviors. This study investigated the interaction effects between openness to experience and enjoyable activities as motivational orientations on creative behavior in a sample of Indonesian design students. This study found that the importance of meaningful work, enjoyable activities, a sense of achievement, positive reinforcement, and numerous other factors become key factors to achieve higher levels of individual creativity. These results provide theoretical and practical implications on how interaction effects shape creative behavior in several important respects.

The focus of the study is to compare the determinant factors of entrepreneurial attitudes and intentions based on the Resurreccion's (2010) study. One hundred eighteen students in their final year of study participated in the survey and the data were collected through self-administered questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed for their content, presented in the form of graphs and were given a simple statistical treatment. The results indicated that Indonesian business students are aware of the competencies and the qualities strongly associated with entrepreneurial success. Specifically, they have favorable views on entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in terms of their impacl to society. Interesting finding showed thqt entrepreneurial intentions are not solely determined by the possession of what are believed to be entrepreneurial qualities. These are jointly in/luenced by several factors including social factors, yalues system, self-Efficacy, and perceptions.

Sometimes managers often lose their way in to provide the levels of creativity for their subordinates, and often justify the method which it built in the personality of the workers. Understandably, to develop attitude, mental and creative behaviour is not easy. This study provides insights on how the potential creativity of a person is measured from the aspect of personal (personality) using software applications that help companies or the management in choosing employees, develop workers, and identify potential talent. This measurement was formulated in the form of index scale.The use of this computational modeling provides a clearer picture through the identification of worker‘s creative characteristics that forming the nature of changes.
- ItemTHE IMPACT OF PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND INTRINSIC MOTIVATION ON CREATIVE BEHAVIOR AMONG INDONESIAN RADIO STATION MANAGERS(Management Research Center, Graduate School of Management, Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia, 2007-04) Setiadi, Nugroho J.; Ali, Anees Janee; Aafaqi, RehanaThe main purpose of the article is to increase understhnding in some personal characteristics affecting creative performance among Indonesian radio station managers' leadership context. Using creativity-relevant personal characteristics and motivation as input model, the authors identified that both of these two variables are positively related to creative performance. The study hypothesized that Leader-member exchange (LMX) moderate the relationship between personal characteristics and creative performance. Among a sample of 283 Indonesian radio station managers, results found that creativity-relevant personal characteristics and intrinsic motivation were positively related to creative performance when managers' perception of followers' work,contribution toward them (as the second dimension of LMX) was high.

The global financial crisis has affected a number of banking institutions, including indonesian islamic banks. The crisis is reflected by the higher financing to deposit ratio (fdr) in islamic bank. Actually,the high fdr has positive impact to economic growth in the community. However, islamic banks have liquidity problems if the clients want to pull their funds from the islamic bank. This study aims to determine the effect of level of liquidity to the level of profitability in islamic banking(muama1at indonesia bank, syariah mandiri bank and syariah mega indonesia bank) over the periods 2005- 2009. Results showed that the level of liquidity as measured by the quick ratio, financing to deposit ratio and loan to asset ratio has a significant influence on return on equity. Interesting funding showed that loan to asset ratio has a negative impact on return on equity.

This article also discusses the existence of Hijabers Community. A survey was conducted in this study, and we used the analysis of positioning in term of the level of competitiveness of the hijab industry though the attribute analysis approach. Product attributes are analyzed includes the main elements that are considered as essential products by consumers and used as a basis for making purchasing decisions. The results of the empirical findings about Hijabers Community’s perception of the existence of the community showed that their activity have a prestige value for using branded goods in the dress and the veil, and they feel look fashionable and stylish. While the analysis of the veil’s attributes in several hijab boutiques in Sukabumi shows the results that Zoya Boutique is able to the top position of the Islamic fashion competition, and Zoya Boutique provide an excellent brand boutique compare with others.

This conceptual model is developed as the result of empirical study. Preliminary survey is conducted to identify the elements of mental attitude and creative behavior among creative workers in Indonesia design industry. The study found that a significant correlation between mental attitude and creative behavior. Through the development of mental attitude and creative behavior, their creative performance will be achieved consistently. Therefore, their work quality tends to improve design industry. Consequently, this model would play a role in development of mental attitude and creative behavior among creative workers in Indonesia. The study contributes to develop the existing and future development of humanity among creative workers in Indonesia design industry. - ItemMULTIPLICATIVE EFFECTS OF OPENNESS TO EXPERIENCE AND ENJOYABLE ACTIVITIES AS MOTIVATIONAL ORIENTATIONS ON CREATIVE BEHAVIOR AMONG INDONESIAN RADIO BROADCASTERS(2009) Setiadi, Nugroho J.This article presents an empirical study of the interaction effects between openness to experience and enjoyable activities as motivational orientations on creative behavior in a sample of Indonesian radio station broadcasters. Contemporary behavioral scientists have suggested the importance of meaningful work, enjoyable activities, a sense of achievement, positive reinforcement, and numerous other factors as keys to higher levels of individual and organizational performance. Realizing the importance of extending creativity study, hence, this article will focus on an empirical evidence of multiplicative effects of motivational orientations on individual creativity in order to explain the relationship among creativity-relevant variables. The study hypothesized that radio broadcasters’ creativity will be the highest as they experience strong in enjoyable activities and high level of openness to experience. Among a sample of 260 Indonesian radiobroadcasters, results found that highly level of the radio broadcasters’ creativity was predicted synergistically by the interaction term of enjoyable activities and openness to experience. The findings help to bridge previously disparate research traditions in dispositional achievement behavior and contextual motivational orientation.

- ItemROLE OF LIKING AND PERCEIVED CONTRIBUTION ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERSONALITY AND CREATIVE BEHAVIOR AMONG INDONESIAN RADIO BROADCASTERS(2009) Setiadi, Nugroho J.; Rochyadi, MiraPrevious studies found that Indonesia had very few radio journalists who had been trained to cover and report local news. Radio stations also lacked management expertise, particularly in sales and advertising. Most stations did not have modern recording and editing equipment. Local radio stations also did not have access to domestic and inter-national news sources, nor could they communicate with other stations and media outlets. Like television and print media organizations, radio stations did not have access to media law experts to guide them in interpreting legislation and helping protect them from vested interests. Consequently, the study is needed to be conducted. The study was conducted to increase understanding in empirical evidence that some personal characteristics affecting creative behavior among Indonesian radio station broadcasters. Using creativity-relevant personal characteristics as input model, this article identified that creative personality is positively related to creative behavior. The study also examined the joint condition of supervisory liking and perceived contribution moderate the relationship between personal characteristics and creative behavior. Among a sample of Indonesian radio station broadcasters, results found that creativity-relevant personal characteristics was positively related to creative behavior when their managers’ perception of followers’ work contribution toward them was high. Realizing the importance of extending creativity study, hence, this article will focus on an empirical evidence of personality dimensions on individual creativity in order to explain the relationship among creativity-relevant variables.
