Abstract
Expert system is the collaboration of both knowledge and data retrieval system as a function to solve the problem that generally requires human expertise. In other words, this kind of system is expected to help substituting human knowledge appropriately, anytime and anywhere, not to replace human who are expert in the field.
Lung disease is the leading cause of death in biug cities with high stress and pollution. With a lifestyle that tend unhealthy in urban area, we need a system that can diagnose this disease seen from early symptoms to be followed up more quickly and precisely in order to avoid delays in prevention and treatment.
Decision Support System (DSS) for Diagnosis of lung disease in this study using CERTAINTY FACTORS method used to perform the weighting of all complaints suffered by patients. This system can provide output patient's illness, which in this case the patient has three possibilities, that patient is suffering from lung disease with weights approaching +1 disease, not the disease weighs close to -1 or 0 neutral weight.
