Abstract
ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini berjudul ”Adverb of Certainty Pada Novel The Mirror
Crack’d From Side To Side Karya Agatha Christie: Kajian Sintaktis dan
Semantis”. Data yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini adalah mengenai posisi,
fungsi, serta mengenai makna adverb of certainty. Tujuan dari penelitian ini
adalah untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai posisi, fungsi, serta makna yang terdapat
dalam adverb of certainty. Data diambil dari novel The Mirror Crack’d from Side
to Side yang di tulis oleh Agatha Christie.
Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis
deskriptif. Pertama data diklasifikasikan dalam beberapa bagian, kemudian data
dianalisis berdasarkan teoti-teori yang menjadi dasar penelitian ini, sehingga dapat
diambil beberapa kesimpulan dari penelitian ini.
Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa posisi dari adverb of certainty
dapat di letakkan di awal, di tengah dan di akhir kalimat, fungsi dari adverb of
certainty yaitu dapat menerangkan verba, kalimat, adverbia, serta ajektiva.
Secara semantis makna yang dimiliki oleh adverb of certainty adalah makna
leksikal.

ABSTRACT
The title of this thesis is “Adverb of Certainty Pada Novel The Mirror
Crack’d From Side To Side Karya Agatha Christie: Kajian Sintaktis dan
Semantis”. The data analyzed in this thesis are about the position, the function
and the meaning of adverb of certainty. The objectives of this research are to
describe the position, the function and the meaning of adverb of certainty. The
data are taken from the novel The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side written by
Agatha Christie.
The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method. The
procedures of analyzing data as follows: first, data are classified into several
groups, then, the data are analyzed according to the theories as the basis of this
research, and finally, the conclusion is drawn from the analysis in this research.
From the research, it can be concluded that the position of adverb of
certainty may be placed at the initial position, mid-position and final position. The
functions of adverb of certainty are to modify verbs, sentences, adverbs, and
adjectives. Semantically, adverb of certainty has lexical meaning.
