dc.description.abstractSocial media is commonly used everywhere and consists of various user-driven channels. Social media is a group that is connected with the internet and allows people to create, share and post their opinions. Indonesia is one of the biggest social media users. A research done by Alexa.com has found that facebook.com, google.com, google.co.id, blogspot.com and youtube.com are the top five social media in Indonesia. In further trends, social media can be used to improve learning process. Students and teachers are able to use social media to interact with others. The purpose of this study is to identify and to reveal the role of social media in learning process. The respondents for this research are 326 Widyatama University students who take a summer course in the academic year 2011/2012. F-test is used to compare the different groups.
