- ItemDEVELOPMENT OF THE CREATIVE ECONOMY IN THE CITY OF BANDUNG: Measuring Creative Behavior among Indonesian Creative Workers in Traditional Industries(the Regional Studies Association Research Network on Creative Regions in Europe, Departement of Geography and Geology University of Copenhagen, 2012-04-18) Setiadi, Nugroho Juli; Boediprasetya, Agoestiana; WahdiamanDeveloping creative economy is believed to respond to the challenges of economic problems such as low economic growth, unemployment, poverty, and lack of industrial competitiveness. In the era of prosperity and self improvement, creativity and innovation of creative workers to create unique and interesting ideas is one thing that needs attention. The behavior of creative workers in realizing their creative works in the traditional industries in Indonesia has not been well identified. This is caused by the absence of a valid and reliable instrument to measure and identify the behavior of creative workers. Measurement of the creative workers’ behavior and characteristics has been developed and evaluated with a group of Indonesian creative workers in Bandung (n=220). This study presents data supporting reliability (internal consistency) and validity (criterion and construct) of this instrument. Results of a factor analysis indicated a five factor solution of creative workers’ characteristics and behavior. These findings are discussed in the context of their understanding of work value in creative industries based on local wisdom.
- ItemEMPIRICAL STUDY OF CREATIVE BEHAVIOR AMONG INDONESIAN DESIGN STUDENTS(Faculty of Economics Trisakti University, 2010-11-10) Setiadi, Nugroho J.; Boediprasetya, Agoestiana; WahdiamanThis paper presents preliminary findings of an examination creative behavioral model. As part of an extensive modeling effort, it offers initial insights that may shift the current focus in individual creativity to a more extensive view where the situations within designers operate play a role in the occurrence of creativity. To accomplish this aim, it is important to understand people’s motivations and creative behaviors. This study investigated the interaction effects between openness to experience and enjoyable activities as motivational orientations on creative behavior in a sample of Indonesian design students. This study found that the importance of meaningful work, enjoyable activities, a sense of achievement, positive reinforcement, and numerous other factors become key factors to achieve higher levels of individual creativity. These results provide theoretical and practical implications on how interaction effects shape creative behavior in several important respects.
- ItemMENTAL ATTITUDE AND CREATIVE BEHAVIOR AMONG INDONESIAN CREATIVE WORKER IN DESIGN INDUSTRY(Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, 2011-03-10) Wahdiaman; Setiadi, Nugroho J.; Boediprasetya, AgoestianaAbstract— The paper presents a conceptual model of creative behavior among creative workers. This conceptual model is developed as the result of empirical study. Preliminary survey is conducted to identify the elements of mental attitude and creative behavior among creative workers in Indonesia design industry. The study found that a significant correlation between mental attitude and creative behavior. Through the development of mental attitude and creative behavior, their creative performance will be achieved consistently. Therefore, their work quality tends to improve design industry. Consequently, this model would play a role in development of mental attitude and creative behavior among creative workers in Indonesia. The study contributes to develop the existing and future development of humanity among creative workers in Indonesia design industry. - ItemRICE FIELD NARRATIVE IN THE VISUAL FRAME(Journal of Advanced Research in Dynamical & Control Systems, Vol. 11, 03-Special Issue, 2019) WahdiamanThe economy of an agrarian society relies on agriculture that produces food to meet its own needs as well as for commerce. The phenomenon in Indonesia, rice fields as an agricultural base has experienced various twists and turns of travel. Rice fields can be seen from a cultural, economic, to political perspective. From the point of view of rice culture, it formed a spirit of mutual cooperation, gave birth to techniques and cultivation of plants, to become objects of art. From the economic point of view, rice fields have supported the country's food needs and even exported. From a political standpoint, the rice fields have witnessed the journey of the Orde Baru regime's hegemony in maintaining its power, gain legitimacy to suppress the potential of the community in the name of national development and stability, and to represent the success of economic development through rice self-sufficiency by increasing rice productivity through agricultural extensification and intensification [1]. With the support of a single channel of television media at that time, the government has succeeded in infiltrating the propaganda claim of success in development, with the communication being built is top-down, so that other impacts are not revealed. This condition creates a paradoxical situation in the reality of society. This is used as the basis for the writer to create works by presenting the rice field as a representation of the portrait of an agrarian country, Indonesia. Through an instrumentalist art approach, the work is embodied in video installation media, because this media can better represent the writer's ideas in narrating time-based narratives. This work is expected to inspire connoisseurs, open views about rice fields in the context of culture, economics, and politics, which ultimately can provide awareness about the nation's social conditions in the present reality.
- ItemUngkapan Visual Rangkaian Tumbuh Dalam Wujud Medium Seni Rupa Berbasis Ruang Dan Waktu(Universitas Widyatama, 2009-02) WahdiamanKarya seni adalah sebuah kemungkinan-kemungkinan tentang representasi makna. Seni dilahirkan dari situasi estetik yang dialami dalam keseharian. Dalam persinggungan dengan keseharian yang berulang-ulang dapat mengasah intuisi seorang seniman atau desainer. Penulis mengalami persoalan yang demikian dalam rentang sekian waktu, hingga terdorong untuk merepresentasikan sebuah gagasan tentang yang ditemukannya dalam realitas. Upaya representasi ini didasari kompetensi individual penulis. Keseharian yang ditemui adalah sebuah proses alam tumbuhnya tanaman. Penulis menangkap sebuah pemikiran tentang proses alami itu. Penulis ingin mengembangkan gagasan ini melalui berbagai medium dan format ungkapan seni rupa seperti photography, komputer, beserta elemen-elemennya. Dengan teknologi kamera fotografi telah memungkinkan manusia untuk merekam sebuah peristiwa yang merupakan gambaran realitas yang terjadi. Melalui teknologi fotografi dan komputer untuk pengolahan lebih lanjut, penulis bermaksud untuk membuat sebuah representasi visual yang menggambarkan sebuah proses tumbuh tanaman. Penggabungan dua medium tersebut dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh representasi visual yang ideal dan menunjang konsep penciptaan karya. Rencana wujud akhir dari karya visual ini adalah sebuah film/ movie atau gambar bergerak (animasi) yang memperlihatkan proses tumbuh tanaman. Pengambilan gambar diam dengan menggunakan kamera fotografi menjadi sekuens, yang merekam tahap-tahap tumbuh tanaman. Hasil perekaman tersebut menjadi bahan untuk diolah dengan media komputer untuk menghasilkan gambar bergerak.
