    PEMBANGUNAN SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS PEMETAAN PERGURUAN TINGGI DI KOPERTIS WILAYAH IV JAWA BARAT DAN BANTEN

    Perkembangan teknologi dalam penyampaian informasi peta semakin berkembang pesat. Penanganan masalah peta beralih dari analog ke digital. Kemudian dengan memanfaatkan teknologi komputer tersebut dibuatlah suatu sistem informasi untuk menyajikan suatu peta. Sistem tersebut adalah sistem informasi geografis atau geographic information system (GIS). Sistem ini dapat membantu pengolahan data dari bermacam sumber yang memiliki skala dan struktur yang berbeda. Pembangunan Sistem informasi Geografis berbasis web ini menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP sebagai interfaces sistem. Pengelolaan basis data menggunakan MySQL, dan tools khusus untuk pengelolaan pemetaan . Sistem informasi Geografis berbasis web ini dapat diharapkan dapat menyajikan informasi universitas – universitas yang ada di wilayah IV Jawa Barat.

    SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS PETA PERGURUAN TINGGI WILAYAH JAWA BARAT

    West Java is a very active area of education development. Many universities in West Java be the purpose of study by many prospective students, whether originating from West Java itself or from outside the West Java area. The people, especially the prospective students is now more critical and proactive in search for information about the college or universities. Some most requested information is the location of the campus, the courses offered and the level of accreditation of each program of study. Source of the information not only from promotional leaflets or brochures, but also by searching through the internet. Unfortunately, the information available on the internet is not integrated, so to obtain the above information, the user should perform the search process many times. In addition, many universities have not been able to present complete and accurate information on the web-site respectively. This condition raises the idea of developing a geographic-based system that can display important information about college (especially PTS or private University), especially in West Java. In the first stage, the system will provide information that is most requested by the user: the location, course and accreditation. In the future, the content of information provided by the system can be extended based on the needs. The results of this study are applications that take advantage of geographic data GoogleMaps API to provide spatial data on college information.
