Like most ofall company, the purpose ofbeing listed in stock exchange market is to raise its market value together with the larger the capital they have. In this paper, the author try to compare the profitability ratio between go public family business (R3) with family ownership structure less than fifty percent and the FB with family ownership more than fifty percent. The analysis use two go public family businesses in the confectionary industry. The study compare the go public FB with capital structure less than fifty percent and the FB with capital structure more than fifty percent and analyze which FB perform better profitability ratio. The data use 5 years financial reportfrom 200] -2005 From the analysis we found that go public family business with family ownership less than 50 percent perform better profitability ratio than those withfamily ownership more 50 percent.
- ItemTHE INFLUENCE OF INFORMATION ASYMMETRY ON EARNINGS MANAGEMENT PRACTICE AND THEIR IMPLICATION ON SHARE PRICE CHANGES(Universitas Widyatama, 2008) Sarumpaet, Tetty Lasniroha; Meliala, Janita S.; Sutoko, Mame S.The research conducted an empirical investigation on the influence of information asymmetry on earnings management and their implication on share price changes. When information asymmetry is high, the stakeholders do not have any information or resources to monitor and to know manager’s activities, which then usually raise the earnings management practice. To provide evidence on earnings management practice and information asymmetry, this research used aggregate accrual with modified Jones model and market microstructure theory. This research employed quotes, trading volume, and return volatility for bid ask spread to proxy in market structure and used control variables for complete analysis. We employed multiple regressions with 34 firms’ balanced data in the 2003-2005 periods. Empirical result suggested that independent variables have influence on earnings management, and they correlated with share price changes.

Coca-Cola as the soft drinks is thought to contain alcohol, calories and excess sugar, artificial sugar is not good for health. These issues are considered to damage the quality of the products of Coca-Cola and can affect consumer loyalty. The findings of this research showed that the responses regarding the quality of Coca-Cola products are fairly good, judging from the overall average value of 3.21. Levels of consumer loyalty in the Coca-Cola Rancaekek are fairly good, can be seen from the average value of 3.20. Influence the quality of the product to the consumer loyalty Coca-Cola soft drinks based on the calculation of Spearman rank correlation, rs value of 0.827 is obtained so that the relationship between the qualities of products with consumer loyalty can be said to be very strong. The magnitude of the effect of product quality to customer loyalty products Coca-Cola soft drink is equal to 68.39% and the remaining 31.61% influenced by other factors is not examined by the researcher.

Dealing with these problems, there are many organizations, especially big companies who using the competency models to help them recognized the abilities, knowledge, and significant individual characteristic which sorely need to achieve a superior performance. PT. INTI is one of the companies, who try to build the competency model, and right now having reach phase of build competency profile. The researcher has built 14 (fourteen) competency profiles of manager based on merging model. The method to build this profile is Customized Generic Model Overlay Method (CGMOM). This profile has built based on generic competency models OPM (The US. Office of Personnel Manager), generic competency model of manager according to Spencer, and 10 roles of manager according to Henry Mintzberg. The profiles are Team leadership, Self-esteem, Direct communication, Planning and evaluation, Decision maker, Management conflict, Teamwork and cooperation, Developing others, Organizational awareness and relationship building, Specialized knowledge, Achievement motivation, Interpersonal Understanding, Analytical Thinking, Conceptual Thinking. Based on this profile, the researcher build 2 examples competency model of manager, organization development manager and the personnel service manager. The competency model of manager built containing job description, the competency that we need, and the behaviors of competency. Each job descriptions might be needed more than one of competency profile. One example of job description organization development manager is having done the other assignment from direct leader, this job description need empathy profile and self esteem profile. From that model competency examples we could say the fourteenth competency profile are needed by manager for doing their job description.
