Abstract
Basically, the aid goods distribution for natural disaster relief involves activities for delivering aid goods from relocation or supply centers of aid goods to casualty or receiver centers as the targeted locations of the distribution. In this case, the receiver centers are the places or nodes where the disaster occurred. A well-planned distribution system of aid goods is essential to support a prompt supply of aid goods for minimizing the casualties and restoring the productive activities in the disaster area. This paper discusses a research on development of distribution model of aid goods for natural disaster relief. The objective of the model is to minimize total unsatisfied demands for all necessary commodities throughout the planning horizon. The model accommodates delivery of aid goods with transportation time longer than one time period or with delivery frequency less than one. The model developed in this research also adopts maximum weight and maximum space of consignment to define load capacities of vehicles used in delivering the supplies. The model is decomposed into two sub models. Sub model 1 concerns with the allocation problem of aid goods, and Sub model 2 involves the assignment problem of vehicle distributing aid goods which their compositions, amounts and designated routes (from supply centers to receiver centers) have been specified by Sub model 1. The solution of the developed model is obtained using Integer Linear Programming (ILP). In order to test the model performance this research make used of real case of the earthquake disaster that happened in Yogyakarta and Central Java at 27 May 2006.
