One of the products produced is Piston Ring. The problem facing the company today is how to improve and maintain product quality in order to minimize defective products that can cause harm to companies, especially on a large scale. This study uses the Six Sigma method as an improvement approach that aims to find and eliminate the causes of defective products that often occur. The stages used are the stages of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control). At the define stage it is known that there are 15 types of CTQ on the GD-HIGH S. Piston Ring PVD product model. Then at the measure stage it is known that the highest pareto defect diagram is on the type of hakuri defect with a total defect reaching 32.1% with attribute data using a control chart p for which most data are still out of control. DPMO value was 21.888 and sigma value was 3.52. Then proceed to the analysis phase for analysis using a fishbone diagram and FMEA process. Now we know the root cause corrective suggestions made to improve and reduce the number of defects that occur in the product Piston Ring PVD-HIGH GD models S.
- ItemANALYSIS OF SILICA SAND DISTRIBUTION AND GRAIN FINENESS NUMBER (GFN) FOR CASTING PROCESS(International Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Vol. 24, Issue 2, 2020) Komarudin, Udin; Farida, Ida; Santoso, HeruSilica sand is one type of sand that is sought after by industries, especially industries engaged in metal casting, because this sand can be used as a molding material. Besides being easily formed, silica sand can achieve maximum hardness after being mixed with chemicals namely resins and catalysts. To achieve the maximum strength of the sand mold curing time is required. This curing time provides the time / opportunity for the resin and catalyst to react so that the mold reaches its maximum strength. This study aims to determine the distribution of sand and the value of GFN (Grain Fineness Number), to determine the suitability of sand with the physical requirements of sand for casting iron. Testing of sand distribution is carried out on new, reclaimed and mixed Silica sand using the Sieve Analysis Test Type PSA (GP) (Laboratory Siever). The test was carried out within 15 minutes with vibration 8. Analysis results showed that the most recent sand distribution was in the 0.5 mm sieve, namely 29.61 g or 59.22%, with GFN = 27.8. The most reclamation sand distribution is in the 0.355 mm sieve, which is 15.65 gr or 31.3% with GFN = 43.53. And the most mixed sand distribution was at 0.355 mm sieve, which was 15.68 gr or 31.36% with GFN = 39.6. Sand that meets the physical requirements for the cast iron casting process is reclaimed Silica sand.
- ItemANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF FUEL SYSTEM, FUEL TYPES AND SPARK PLUG TYPES ON CO2 GAS EXHAUST USING FACTORIAL DESIGN(International Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Vol.24, Issue 02, 2020) Komarudin, Udin; Suryaman, Nia Nuraeni; Martoni; Hirary, MarisaThe vehicle combustion system, the type of fuel used and the type of spark plugs, are some of the variables that affect motor vehicle exhaust gases. Some exhaust gases (pollutants) by motorized vehicles include Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Monoxide (NOx), Hydrocarbon (HC), and Lead, smoke and ash, where Exhaust gas can pollute the air and greatly affect human health. From a number of variables that influence motorized exhaust gas, the author determines the combustion system variable, namely the Carburetors and EFI types, the fuel variable type is Premium (octane 88) and Pertamax (octane 92), as well as the spark plug type variable and Iridium spark plugs, as variables main effect to analyze CO2 exhaust gas. The motorized vehicle used as a trial is a 4-step duck motorcycle, 110 cc. The test equipment used to analyze exhaust gas is the Kane Gas Analyzer (Class1). The research method used is factorial design and variable analysis using Yates' Algorithm, the same as in the previous experiment [1]. Yates’s Algorithm Analysis results that the effect of CO2 exhaust is the greatest due to the fuel system of 1.117 (EFI), the second effect is the type of fuel of 0.450 (Pertamax), and the third effect is the type of spark plug of -0.050 (standard spark plug).
