Abstract
Loan distribution Commercial Bank in Indonesia increased from year to year but growth has yet to reach the target set by the government, lending is dominated by working capital loans, followed by consumer credit and the latter is the investment credit, therefore the amount of outstanding loans will be influenced by economic conditions were reflected in inflation and exchange rates. This study aims to determine the effect of inflation and exchange rate of the loan portfolio of commercial banks in Indonesia 2007-2014 period. The research employes explanatory methods. This research collects the secondary data from BI and OJK. Furthermore, double linear regression, t and F tests is used to analyze the data. However, before analyzing the regression, classic assumption takes. The result shows that simultaneously the models in this study can be used to predict the loan distribution. Partialy, results indicate that the variation of inflation able to explain the variation of lending in the opposite way, as well as variations in the exchange rate can explain the variation of lending in the same direction. Indonesia is expected to be stronger monetary stability to safeguard the stability of the domestic economy. Indonesian society is expected to be able to obtain new energy sources other than oil and can strengthen Indonesia's economic condition by using natural resources to the maximum in order not to rely on outsiders.
