Abstract: This study aims to determine the relationship between extrinsic and intrinsic factors on job satisfaction of employees in PT. KAI (Persero). Theoretically, extrinsic factors which include Achievement, Recognition, Responsibility, Work Itself, and Possibility for Developing Yourself Wages (Salary), Working Condition, Job Security, Wisdom of the Company (Company Policy), Quality Supervision (supervision), Quality of Inter-personal Relationships among Co-workers, the Boss and the Subordinate (Interpersonal relationship) indicators, and intrinsic factors which include achievement, Recognition, Responsibility, the Work Itself, and the Possibility of Growth indicators, affecting employee job satisfaction. This research using descriptive analysis, while the data collection method is a survey method with cluster sampling technique, through interviews and questionnaires to a sample of 30 female employees and 30 male employees were taken randomly. The results showed that the factors that most influence employee job satisfaction is intrinsic factor with a significant positive correlation of 0.278 or the coefficient of determination of 7.7%.For male employees, only the intrinsic factors that significantly affect job satisfaction and a positive correlation of 0.412 or the value of determination coefficient of 16.9%. For female employees, only extrinsic factors that significantly affect job satisfaction and a positive correlation of 0.394 or the value of determination coefficient of 15.5%. Thus, there is a difference of male and female employees groups in influencing the level of job satisfaction.
